  • プロフィール: Korea Item Development (KID) is an engineering company, specializing new product development. The company was established by Lee,Kyeong-Won, a professor of Korea Polytechnic University (KPU), and several students at the same university. KID started as a classroom project, but after receiving several awards, the business expanded and more new products and/or technologies have taken practical form. Its first product was the switching module for PC headset and speaker, which was successfully transferred to a small manufacturer on a contract. The company strengthened its marketing division in 2001 by bringing an outside marketing expert and it started to distribute its first product, "Black Hole", a mosquito trap, which was followed by a sister product, "Black Hole II", a portable model. After a modest success with the Black Hole, KID now concentrates on a water-saving toilet flushing system, which received wide praise and awards in various exhibitions, both domestically and internationally. It was even dubbed as one of the 3 most innovative products in Korea by an engineering expert. KID's business model is to develop new products and transfer the technology to a manufacturing company or manufacture and distribute them alone, depending on the products. It has many new award-winning ideas ready to be made practical under its wings.
