The wisdom and power of Japan and Korea have fused into a new type of international joint company with the core purpose of developing and selling optical storage drives. Despite the fact that we are an OEM manufacturer and have very little opportunity to have direct contact with end-users, we are fortunate to say that one out of four PCs in the world are equipped with our products. Optical storage drives, which began with CD-ROMs, have evolved into Super Multi drives that can also burn DVDs, and coupled with strong growth in DVD recorders, are further increasing their usage. Technical development offering high density, high capacity and high quality with the use of a blue laser is progressing, and what's more, next generation technologies are actively developing. With the support of research institutes from Hitachi and LG Electronics, Hitachi-LG Data Storage is aggressively promoting the development of cutting-edge technologies. We aim to continue assisting the intellectual activities of customers through our products as well as realizing and providing products demanded by customers on a timely basis using the latest technologies in order to lead more comfortable and affluent lives.
