This has been the major business area of STI from the start of STI. Control system engineering is another technical capability STI can supply to clients together with the dynamic process simulation capabilities. Increasing awareness on environmentally friendliness and safety in almost all aspects of our modern life also is forcing the marine and offshore industries towards a direction where many challenges are ahead. Efficient and cost effective oil water separation has been one of the major issues in the field. STI has been developing various types of oil water separation systems for special uses. Not only environmental safety but also minimizing casualties is one of the most important considerations to be taken in the filed of marine industry. STI has walked in step with reliable international organizations and committees such as IMO and the first move STI made is VDR (Voyage Data Record) which allows recording of important ship data for accident investigation in order to discover the problems for the future or take precautions at least. Reducing inherent hazards in factories has been one of the research & development items within STI. Loader/unloader system based on servo control of pneumatic cylinders using fuzzy control algorithm has been a cost effective yet providing practical accuracy solutions for press factories while high cost servo controlled solutions are available.
