  • Perfil: Sun Safes is one of the leading safes manufacturers in the world specializing in fire-proof safes and filing cabinet, burglary resistance safes, etc. Mr. Y. H.Kim, the founder and Chairman of the company, worked as a safes technician in United States of America for nearly 10 years since 1962. During the time, he obtained a lot of experience and knowledge about safes and he traveled all of the world, working as a technician. So he was well known as a Korean with unique technology in the State's safes and locksmith industry at the time. After returning to Korea, he established Sun Safes Manufacturing Company in 1973 after in-depth investigation on the domestic safes market. The first thing he had done is to set up a Korean standardization on the Safes Products. For this purpose, he submitted a collection of safes data to Natio- nal Police Bureau and Office of Industrial Advancement to adopt as index of the fire-proof safes. He even built a test furnace in the factory and conducted fire- proof test at 980℃ for 3 hours and 30 minutes to demonstrate the quality of his safes with the attendance of high-ranking government officials and reporters of major broadcasting companies such as KBS, MBC and 7 biggest newspaper companies. This way, he transferred his technology to Korean safes industry and made a contribution to change Korea from safes importing country to exporter. In 1992, after visiting Meilink Inc., 120 years old safes manufacturing company in U.S.A, he noticed the necessity of production management system based on engineering theory. Since then, he started to invest more on production facilities and plant automation.
